Profile

Dr. S.A Opoku obtained his PhD from Cornell University,Ithaca, New York from 1967 to 1971. Prior to his education at Cornell University, he had been at the University of Ghana, Legon from 1964 to 1967 where he obtained his BSc Honors Degree.

He worked in Classification of topological trivial pricipal C* line bundles over a compact Riemann Surface of genus g≥1. He has since improved on the classification by results on topologically trivial hlomorphic vecotr bundles of rank n≥1 over a compact Riemann surface of genus g≥1. Another important area of research has been factorization in the Hardy Spaces H1(U n).

He has served on several boards including his selection by the Ministry of Finance to interview applicants and recruitment of the present Government Statistician. He also served on the panel for the National Accreditation Board to vet Mathematics programmes at the Methodist University, University of Ghana and University of Cape Coast.He has also supervised a lot of undergraduate and postgraduate thesis in Topology, Complex Analysis and Abstract Algebra.

Currently he is a senior lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, lecturing in Complex Analysis and Topology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
