Message from the Head of Department

Welcome to the official website for the Department of Mathematics, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana.

It is my greatest pleasure to have you visit our site. The Department has an academic staff strength of thirty three lecturers of which one is a Professor, eight Phd holders and the rest with a minimum qualification of a master of science degree.

Five Lecturers are currently pursuing Phd programmes in Europe and the United States of America. The Department has Programmes in Mathematics and Statistics & Actuarial Science.

There are two components of the Master of Science Degrees in Mathematics currently being being run by the Department, notably the Master of Science in Mathematics and the Master of Science in Industrial Mathematics under the Institute of Distance Learning.

The Department will also run Phd Programmes in Mathematics in the near future. A Master of Science degree in Actuarial Science will be run. Plans are also afoot to mount a bachelor of science degree in mathematics with business programme.

The Department is growing in leaps and bounds to ensure Mathematics take the center stage in the Country's quest for economic breakthrough
